Jennifer Bernhoft, MFT
Marriage and Family Therapist - License # 46383
BIOGRAPHY
I obtained a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2008. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts degree from Lourdes University, with a major in psychology. Then, I attended Antioch University and graduated with a Masters of Arts in clinical psychology. Additional coursework was completed at Antioch University in order to obtain a specialization in child studies.
I completed an internship with South Bay Center for Counseling, in which I implemented therapy sessions with children, adolescents and parents at school, home and clinic based settings. Post licensure, I transitioned to Del Amo Hospital where I conducted assessments for psychiatric inpatient hospitalization. I was later employed at Center For Discovery, a dual-diagnosis residential facility for adolescents, as a Primary Therapist. There, I implemented intensive individual, family and group therapy. Focus was placed on supporting clients through the recovery process, improving family dynamics and planning for reintegration into a healthy lifestyle. I am effective in integrating the skills gained through my treatment history into my current work with children, adolescents, adults and families.
